I thought that my last post on TikTok (if it is my last post on TikTok) should be an attempt to go out with a bang, so that’s what this is! I first posted my cover of No Surprises about 6 months ago. It was just the first couple verses of this song, but I’ve since taken time to arrange the entire thing!
I am usually hesitant to post full covers for a couple reasons, one of them being that it’s hard to get a full take that I’m comfortable with, but I have been trying to embrace the imperfections of live music. I took two takes and this is the second. I made an effort to play as slow as I reasonably could, but I definitely sped up through the course of the song.
I’ve been using TikTok to edit my short videos before cross-posting them since the beginning. They have a built-in reverb that makes my videos sound lovely and a captions font to which I’ve become accustomed. Here’s to stepping out of my comfort zone as I navigate this (possible) transition to another app’s editor.
